Charcoal Painting (Live Sketch) : Flower with a Leaf

Charcoal paintings are yet another class of paintings and sketching. What I am going to share with you guys today, is a live sketch of a flower and a leaf.

Okay, let's begin.

How I made it: First of all, arrange the desired things and remember not to take many things, as it is difficult to color them perfectly with charcoal in the beginning.

Begin sketching, using a HB pencil (with light hand). Then take a charcoal stick and start highlighting the darker areas (this part solely depends upon your observation skills).

Then, take a SOFT paper tissue, and use it to smudge the charcoal from darker areas to comparatively lighter areas. This will result in its lighter shades.

Finally, use a KNEADED ERASER to highlight the areas, where there is no dark light. (This is the final touch and it is very important too!)

ENJOY! Your first charcoal painting is ready!

Magical Trick: ALWAYS use a SOFT PAPER TISSUE for smudging the charcoal & NEVER use your hand or blow away the charcoal residues.
